Ice Climbing Course – Beginner Level
This course is designed for anyone who has never used crampons and ice axes on vertical ice and would like to approach the fascinating world of frozen waterfalls.
The goal of the course is to learn the basic ice climbing techniques and how to move on ice in a winter mountain environment.
Programme
Saturday – Introduction & Safety
-meeting with the Mountain Guide
-equipment check and distribution
-safety principles in a winter environment
-basic knots
-introduction to ice climbing technique on low-angle ice
Sunday – Vertical Ice Technique
-review of basic techniques
-introduction to vertical ice climbing
-use of protection
-building progression anchors with ice screws
-building retreat anchors (Abalakov threads)
Prices
Group course (3 to 5 people): €280 per person
Private course (2 people): €380 per person
